 It is with great pleasure and honor that I completed my first fiscal year with the Housing Authority of the City of Pawtucket. This has been a very productive year and much of my time has been involved in working on moving the Authority forward. A retreat was conducted with myself and the Commissioners as part of this process and I am very happy to report that we share a very similar vision for the Authority – which is for us to be the best we can in our mission of providing decent quality housing for residents with an emphasis on promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
The 2009-2010 year was the beginning of some major projects that are carrying over into the next fiscal year. A Physical Needs Assessment of all our properties was initiated; a Capital Fund Financing Plan was put back on track, the process of reestablishing a resident service department began, and the Authority reached out to its resident leaders to engage them as our partners. Truly, none of the above could have been started if not for the trust I have received from the Board of Commissioners and the solid professional staff that I am so fortunate to work with.
